We're sorry about the lack of updates, but we've been very busy!

We finally cut and sewed out first jacket prototype! Below you can see the pattern with the actual back.

We used one of out classmates as a model when it was all done, and we made note of the necessary improvements.

We then went on to make the second, refined prototype- which we carefully measured and stitched.

ALMOST DONE!
We finished sewing the actual hammock, and now we're stuffing it with plastic bags to provide cushion.

Progress:
-We've made the first side of the fruit themed hammock, and plan on filling it with plastic bags.
- We've collaborated as a team to sew, disassemble and reassemble pannels, and create a color scheme.
- The rope idea didn't work. Our next step is to use bag straps to make better rope.
*PICTURES STILL HAVEN'T ARRIVED*

Final Project:
A hanging hammock/caccoon
Process:
-cut out side panels from the bags, sew them together
-make two layers of these canvases, then stuff the inside with plastic bags
-make long ropes to hang the hammock by
-test rope strength
Progress:
As of Thursday, December 12th, we've sewn almost one side of the hammock.

WE HAVE FINISHED OUR COCOON! (Except for the implementing the grommets and actually hanging it from the wall) We finished stuffing the blanket, and now it is approximately four inches thick. We finished sewing everything, so we have about 9 panels in all. We had the brief idea of dumping it over a homeless man in Boston as a highly charitable effort, but some wise words of Mr. Anderson advised us to stick to our original plan.
Plan of action:
over the next few weeks, we plan on figuring out the exact proportions for hanging the hammock, and we will insert the grommets into the edges in order to actually hang it

GROMETS IN! Well, most of them. Pictures to come! We have to figure out how to hang the hammock on the wall- we're not really sure where to put it. Most of the corner in the classroom are taken up already.

Look! Its Sam's prom dress!

All we need now is the rope to hang the hammock and we'll be done! Our new project is to attempt to make a solar-powered windmill hat. The idea is that the windmill will be activated by sunshine (especially on a hot day) and act as a fan to cool off the person wearing it! We researched patterns for basic baseball hats, and we plan to attach a small fan, with solar panels on top.

This week our team un-seamed and gathered enough bags to have enough material to stitch and cut the back of the jacket. Our template is now exact, so the jacket is coming along!

This week our team was working on making a Jacket, that will say Newton North but have the famous Greengineering cog on it as well. While it was mostly the nitty gritty (using an existing jacket for measurements and finding materials) we hope to be able to start the jacket prototype by next week.
